I have created two similar notepads this week.
The first is a store bought one that has been slightly altered and the second is made from scratch...
The store bought notepad was really easy to alter and was quick and easy fun...
...but there is nothing quite like the satisfaction
of making something totally on your own.

I somehow missed uploading this one to my blog but it was from a Websters Pages Designer swap.

I made the above layouts from a family holiday in Janurary 2011.  I was in Bali and the hotel photographer was fabulous.  My husband and children didn't want to play the game with a photo session so I just went with it alone!!!  We ran out of light on the first day, so he asked me to come back at 7.00 in the morning and meet him on the beach.  That was a big ask as I love sleeping in and I wasnt going to do it, but now I am glad I made the effort as I love the photos and making the page was fun too ;)  The gorgeous Evana had chosen this title for a layout she created and I think it is just fantastic (a bit like her really) you can find more of her exceptional work here Evana

My Beautiful, and Fabulous, Friend, (BFF) Mistra  created this gorgeous page about me!!!  How sweet is SHE...you can view more of her beautiful work here  Mistra Butterfly

Baby Nancy's Treasure Box
A place where I store my memories...

Above is a personal name-badge that I have created for use at exhibitions and promotions.  I have updated the titles below.

This below is the result of a weekend long class with the extremely talented Maxine Hazebroek.  I feel so blessed to have been able to spend time with Maxine and hang out and learn from this unbelievably nice person. Thanks Maxine for "sharing" your creativity!  I hope I can pass on what I have learned from you to more fortunate people like myself :) and you can find the beautiful lady herself here Maxine

It is a miniature house canvas with photos of my ancestors houses...

My mother loves this one and only school photo of herself and it is very beautiful so I chose it for the front cover of my tin.
It is a place to store my favourite of our family's school memories.
There is approximately 15 plastic sleeves inside the tin for mini pages of same and any memoribilia.
I have used the new Photo Corners covered in paper DA#0554, the Memories word DA#038 and the Apples DA#0093.
I got alot of inspiration from the bunch of flowers and apples that my Mother in-law gave me for my birthday they are SO gorgeous!

Decorative Gate #1  DA0289

I have used the Decorative Gate here that has been cut up to fit around an atomiser bottle.  I will add a photo of my favourite flower in our garden to it, when time permits.  I now love creating personalized off the page items that are a gift to me, to keep in my studio.

(This one’s for you Jen;)   I created this page with Jennifer Hedger - owner of the Dusty Attic,  in mind.  The Dusty Attic is such a wondrous place and creating a “Dusty Attic” at home was a fun project.  I piled some of our favourite antiques under the stairs to simulate the look of an old attic.

There are a few dead roses is the photo as I placed it on the bush to photograph, so don’t worry about them!!

I do have a second or double page in mind (with a few other photos) but as they say “Rome was not built in a day”!!!

The hidden journaling is about the love in our lives and antiques in our house.  Secrets that every family has and how I want our album to become a priceless treasure for future generations.

I always use a lot of DA pieces as they are just so gorgeous I can’t keep to using just one!
  • Fancy Trim #5  DA#0575  (new release)
  • Cutlery Set DA#0586
  • Vintage Frame DA#DA0254
  • Chandelier small (2 pack) DA#0080
  • Wire Dress Form DA#0228
  • Tea Pot (2 pack) DA#0135
  • Vintage Dresser with Mirror DA#0256

Other Products I have used:

Tim Holtz Distress Crackle paint – clear rock candy
Ranger Stickles – platinum
Burnt Umber – paint
Dimensional Magic - clear

I have done a tutorial on the Vintage Dresser with Mirror as it is quite special.  You can’t see it very much tucked in there but that is just how I put pages together. You will find it under the TUTORIALS section on the home page.

Our Pretty Baby

Today's post is using some fantastic "New Release" pieces from the Dusty Attic...

The new bird cage comes in a pack of two and I have used a combination of the DA mini chain and an old necklace.
The new "Dusty in Bloom" range has some gorgeous vintage colors and I have used my fav one "Vintage Rose" DA#0803 and the "Grassy Knoll" DA#0809. I have separated the layers and mied them with paper flowers for a co-ordinating feel. The Dusty Attic chipboard buttons, have also been decorated in the matching papers.

And lastly here is the inside of the doors. Our "Indoor Girl" (like me;)

I have created a double door 12 x 12 inch frame, using the 8 x 8 inch box frame for the inside. It represents the view from my home studio, which is the front garden.

Then on the outside French Doors I have placed photos of my work spaces etc.

I have used the newly released Door Handle Plates DA#0681 and the Fancy Letterbox #2 DA#0608 which are my favorites for the moment, amongst the following list of gorgeous Dusty Attic products:-

Corner Scrolls (large and small) DA#
Ornate Gates (medium) DA#0188
ATC Frame - chipboard (altered) DA#0663
Shadow Box Insert 8 x 8 DA#0512
Birdbath 2pk(small and large) DA#0395

The Dusty Attic have some special storage products of their very own, being the above photographed mini Spritz Bottles DA#0610. They are such a cute size and just perfect for covering one larger piece of chipboard. I have squeezed some paint in firstly then topped up with water.

I would suggest that you give them a wash with detergent once empty and spray the nozzles clear with same.

About Me - Concise Biography

My photo
My work history is varied and diverse. From the high profile studios of NWS Channel 9, to the exciting aviation industry, I have a resume' with an extensive list of skills and experience. I reside in sunny Australia. The main purpose of this blog was that it was started out of necessity but has grown into something I enjoy. “To Do What You Love, and Feel That It Matters, What Could Be More Fun?”. I believe this particular industry promotes self esteem in many, whilst being part of a Design Team helps businesses and friends but most of all I love all the fantastic messages that one can give to another through this avenue. It assists me in my endeavour to leave the world a better place… (and as Barbie would say at the beauty pageant "and I wish for world peace";) Hoping that you find some inspiration from my work!
